The cool thing about Sketchup is that there are so many FREE Ruby plug-ins for it, like renders, new tools, exporters, etc., that you should look nowhere else.
I know what I'm talking. Since March of this year I've been scouring the net for some good 2d/3d program, and the 3 above are my preferred choice.
