Qcad from Ribbonsoft has a Linux package

by Lee M
(California, U.S.A.)

Qcad is a two dimensional drawing program.

The Ubuntu Linux has three packages related to Qcad.

There is Qcad, there is a Qcad reference manual and there is a third data package with fonts and patterns.

I began to feel the limits of Qcad when I wanted to draw things like 2x4 lumber and water pipe.

I began wishing for objects that are pre-drawn. Qcad has something like this called blocks.

After a few hours I found myself spending a lot of time becoming obsessed with unimportant details instead of mentally working out the big picture problems of my project.

So I finished my project using the usual pile of freehand sketches and a few 11x17" sketches done with a t-square, scale and pencil.
