Jim, I "think" I understand your problem. If you are saying that you have an unwanted nested XREF that is plotting, here is what I would do. Open up your main external reference drawing (the one you want plotted - the base plan I presume) and type XREF. The drawing that is listed as an XREF in the list, has probably been inserted as an "Attachment". What you want to do is change it to an "Overlay". That way, the overlay will only show in your main XREF drawing, and not the drawing you are trying to plot. An overlay will only show through on it's parent file and will not get carried over into other drawings. Using overlays are also handy when you need to attach survey files, other consultant files, etc., for reference. I realize this probably sounds as confusing as your original question, let me know if this clarifies it. RJ Cadtech Design P.S. You could also just unload the nested XREF temporarily as well, but the first method will prevent having to load/unload the nested XREF.
