CAD Drafting Jobs

"Part II - CAD Designer Jobs from Home."

In your quest for contract CAD drafting jobs, I’m going to assume that you’ve already read the Part I article called, "CAD Work from Home".  If not, please scroll to the bottom of the page and visit the link.

Good to go? Great! So, you've named your CAD business and registered it with the proper agency, created an outsourcing proposal and worked with a few local firms to acquire at least 2 to 3 years experience.

Now you’re on your way to develop a few online CAD designer jobs.

Finding AutoCAD Online Jobs

There are literally hundreds of resources available on the internet to assist you in finding CAD projects that you can do from the comfort of your own home.

If you are excellent at what you do, and your prices are right for the market, good news… there are CAD drafter jobs in every type of discipline.

Whether you specialize in manufacturing, fabricating, architecture, electrical, mechanical, civil, interior design, landscape layout or 3D CAD, there are drafting jobs from home to be had!

The trick? You guessed it… FINDING the CAD drafting jobs.

Online CAD Collaboration

There are several websites that specialize in connecting those in search of contract work, with those in need of contractors or collaborators.

This is great news as sites such as these help narrow down the amount of work you need to do to hunt down CADD contract work leads.

Here is a good site to check out:

Advertise in CAD Related Forums

A fast and easy way to introduce your CADD services is by posting on the Autodesk Classifieds Forum.

Companies looking to hire CAD drawing freelancers also frequent these forums and sometimes post up help wanted threads.

Be sure to read the board rules before posting.

Create a CAD Website

An excellent way to present your services, portfolio, and much more… is to create a website that displays your CAD drafting services.

Although as many have found, this is not an easy task and involves much more work than simply putting up a flashy website.

For the process to work properly, you have to create a website that draws in traffic… no traffic = no sales.

You can have the best looking website on the net, but if nobody visits it… then what is the point of putting up a site aimed at bringing in CAD drafting jobs?

Most new sites don’t receive much traffic until they have been around for a while and contain some good quality content.

In the meantime, one way for a new site to bring in fresh traffic is to use Google Adwords.

When you advertise your CAD services using Google Adwords, your ads will appear on Google.com as well as across publisher sites.

In our next article we will get into the nitty gritty of creating a content-rich website that drives free traffic to your CAD service provider website.
