how do i make a view port have a 90deg view while the drawing in model space remains the same?

Rotating UCS in Viewports

Albeto,

What you want to do is set your UCSFOLLOW setting to 1 in the viewport your wish to have the view rotated.

Leave the UCSFOLLOW set as 0 in model space though.

So double click in your viewport to make it active and type UCSFOLLOW, set the variable to 1.

Then type UCS, Z, and enter the rotation angle.

When you switch back to model space, the model should be still in it's original orientation.

You may also want to lock the view port to keep it's settings.
