There are many times when I've needed to send a crisp, clear AutoCAD drawing to someone.. who doesn't have AutoCAD.

Many clients, such as homebuilders and contractors, prefer to receive a simple file by e-mail that they can print out, look over and mark-up if needed.

Asking them to install drawing readers is something I'd rather not do, because, if I was in their position, I would not want my time taken up with downloading and installing software either.

So quite simply, printing a file from CAD to pdf format has helped me get a drawing to a client quickly and seamlessly.

While there are literally tons of free software available to convert drawings to pdf on the net (and to be honest, I haven't tried them all) the one I use is easy and spam free and is called CutePDF.

Install the CutePDF writer and the PS2PDF converter, print the CAD drawing to a file and e-mail the pdf to the client. Boom! Quick and easy, just the way we both like it.
